C-Tech PREP (Programs Responsive to the Educational Process) is a 3-Tier approach to career readiness. It begins with a theory-based program that provides students with historical insight into the world of Telecommunications. Tier 2 and Tier 3 then provide theory and hands-on skill development in Copper and Fiber Optic-based network cabling. After completing Tiers 2 and 3, students are eligible for Network Cabling Specialist certification as both Copper and Fiber Optic installers. Students build their own working telegraph keys, construct the cables to connect them, and send messages to each other. They construct, test, and troubleshoot copper-based cabling systems of 4-pair cable and coaxial cable that are the basis of today’s networking, cable television and satellite communications systems. They gain a theoretical and hands-on knowledge of Fiber Optics. The three tiers of C-Tech PREP are: Introduction to Telecommunications , Introduction to Network Cabling—Copper-Based Systems, and Introduction to Network Cabling—Fiber Optic-Based Systems. Whether choosing a career as an installation technician, a sales/customer service representative, or any one of a number of positions, C-TECH PREP graduates receive a proven foundation for entry into this rapidly growing field. The complete PREP program is also available in Spanish. Introduction to Telecommunications Introduction to Network Cabling—Copper-Based Systems Introduction to Network Cabling—Fiber Optic-Based Systems Students who successfully complete Introduction to Telecommunications receive a Certificate of Completion. Graduates of Introduction to Network Cabling—Copper-Based Systems, earn a C-Tech Network Cabling Specialist—Copper certificate and Leviton Certified Installer certification as well. Graduates of Introduction to Network Cabling—Fiber Optic-Based Systems receive a Network Cabling Specialist—Fiber Optics certificate. Advantages of PREP training include:
