Announces the Release of High-Density Patch Cord
—the Bladepatch
Siemon,
a global leader in network cabling systems and components, again marks an
industry first with the release of its new BladePatch™. The innovative
design of BladePatch is like no other patch cord available in the market
today. Although the plug is an RJ45 style, it features a unique latching
design that eliminates the need to depress an external latch. The plug latch
is activated by the boot in a push-pull fashion similar to an SC fiber
connector. The plug locks into position when it is pushed into the outlet or
patch panel, and unlatches for removal when the boot is pulled back.
With
BladePatch's unique latching design, need for less "finger space" around
each patch cord, and slimmer boot design, it is ideal for high-density
patching environments. While it is designed to work with any RJ45- style UTP
outlet or patch panel, its ideal use is with blade servers.

Ripley Acquires Clauss's Fiber Optic/Telecom Division
Ripley
Company (www.ripley-tools.com)
recently announced that it has acquired the Fiber Optic/Telecom and
Electronic divisions of Clauss. Details of the acquisition have not been
made public.
Clauss, founded in 1877, manufactures tools and scissors for fiber-optic, telecommunications, and electronics markets. The Fiber Optic/Telecom division includes fiber-optic preparation tools including the NO-NIK fiber stripper, CC 125 fiber cleaver, CFS fiber stripper, Kevlar shears, fiber-optic preparation kits, and consumables for fiber preparation.
"We at Clauss believe that the acquisition of our Fiber Optic/Telecom tools by the Ripley Company puts the best interest of our customers first," said Scott Sprouse, president of Clauss. "As the fiber-optic market reemerges and grows, this move allows Ripley to offer installers, technicians, electrical contractors, and OEMs the most complete line of tools in the industry."
Ripley's vice president and general manager Ed Dearborn said the acquisition "is forward thinking, allowing each company's strongest assets to come together." He called Clauss's product offering "a natural fit to the Ripley product range."
The Clauss tool line will be available through all of Ripley's distributors worldwide, and directly from The Ripley Company.
