C-Tech Delivers Contest at SkillsUSA

National Conference

Thousand of vocational students from all over the country participated in the 39th annual National Leadership and Skills Conference in Kansas City, Missouri. More than 4,000 state contest winners in 73 different trades competed.  Students worked against the clock and each other, proving their expertise in occupations like electronics, computer-aided drafting, precision machining, medical assisting and culinary arts.

C-Tech for the third year delivered the Communication Contest.  Dave Brady, Marketing Director, administered skills tests for the 32 contestants.  Each contestant had to demonstrate their ability to terminate and test a network cabling system, then install and test a voice (telephone) device.  These are some of the same skills taught in C-Tech’s Copper-Based Systems course and Integrated System Voice & Messaging telephony course.

One contestant stated upon concluding, “I didn’t think I could do it, but I did.”— a real confidence builder.
