March Instructor Training

at C-Tech

They came from Paterson, New Jersey and Rapid City, South Dakota.  They journeyed from Rancho Cucamonga, California; San Marcos, Texas and Waycross, Georgia.  They all came to Sparta, New Jersey for C-Tech Instructor training, and they all went away satisfied.

Instructor training for C-TECH PREP (the three tiers of Introduction to Telecommunications, Introduction to Network Cabling-Copper-Based Systems, and Introduction to Network Cabling-Fiber Optic-Based Systems) is scheduled for every other month at C-Tech’s headquarters in Sparta, New Jersey, alternating with classes for Integrated Systems: Voice & Messaging.   Over the course of a week instructors from Certified Training Facilities across the country learn how to present the C-Tech curriculum to their students.  When they leave, they’re Certified Instructors, ready to help their students become Certified Network Professionals.

March’s instructors came from a broad cross-section of C-Tech’s customers. Jo-Ann came from a technical college in South Dakota. Glenn came from one in Louisiana, and Bob teaches in a technical college in Georgia.  Secondary Schools were represented by Bob from and Mike, both from Pennsylvania. Two Daves, one Daniel and one Ken from New Jersey represented Adult Schools. Steve from Maryland and Terry from California were the contingent from private technology schools.  And Dusty came from a Job Corps site in the great state of Texas.

Once in Sparta, the instructors were in the capable hands of C-Tech’s Master Trainer, Larry Benjamin.  Here’s what they said about him:

  • “Larry Benjamin’s expertise is first-rate and his teaching ability is unmatched and invaluable to C-Tech.”

  • “The instructor ensures everyone understands the concepts and techniques of each lesson.”

  • “Very good, excellent instructor.”

  • “Larry did a great job of presenting the material.”

But Larry was not the only aspect of training singled out for praise.  What else did the instructors like?

They liked the activities:

  • “The activities along with the labs are very valuable.”

  • “The hand-on training is very thorough and informative.”

The hands-on activities are so popular that a recurring theme on the evaluation sheets is a request for more such activities and more time to do them.

They liked the curriculum:

  • “The training will benefit Networking, Electronics and Computer technicians, and possibly Office Technology.”

  • “C-Tech training is extremely well-rounded.”

  • “The best packaged curriculum I’ve seen.”

And they liked the people.

  • “The admin staff has been outstanding in their helpfulness, generosity and courtesy. I had a great time and feel that anyone else that attends will also.”

  • “Friendly staff and homey environment.”

  • “The staff here has been so supportive, a real customer-oriented company.”

Of course, it’s not all work.  Instructors are treated to free lunches catered by local restaurants and delicatessens. Coffee, soda pop, snacks, donuts and bagels are also provided.  There’s a dinner one evening at a fine eatery, and Instructors get a chance to visit New York City.

But the training is the heart of it all.  At the end of the week, the Instructors would agree with the one who commented “(The training) gives confidence to the instructor so he can relay information easily.”  Some Instructors go farther: “C-Tech’s facility is top notch and a model to what I hope to turn my classroom into.”

We especially like this comment: “In the future I hope to receive more training in different areas that C-Tech offers.”

Come on back.  We’d love to have you.
